I first started focusing on just one location to pry it open but that seemed liable to bend the panel.
Broken microwave door handle.
Unscrew the old handle with a phillips screwdriver or a nutdriver depending on whether it is held by screws or by nuts tightened onto threaded posts.

You only need to get a couple inches worth of clearance near where the handle is located.
Hey guys about a year ago the handle on my microwave broke the plastic snapped where it connects at the bottom.
At the time i opened up the door and realized ge designed it so that it is very difficult to reach the handle s screws to encourage people to buy a new microwave rather than fix i m sure.
Work your way clockwise around the door and when you get to the side with the handle remove the choke cover and separate it from the choke.
Gently pull the handle off the microwave.
You can also use a putty knife and insert.
Use the knife s edge to remove the choke tabs from the slots on the microwave door frame.
Slide a screwdriver in the seam between the edge of the door and the panel that frames the window.
Materials needed are a small amount of masking or electrical tape a reasonably thick rubber band that will fit around the door and the handle a couple of 1 2 long pan head sheet metal screws and a tube of one of the j b weld ribbon like epoxies that come with one of the two materials wrapped around the other.
